I thought I was done with the whole sports trainers with a concealed wedge thing (so last year), but then I spot these new additions to the Nike Sky Hi family and that old familiar feeling of being insanely hyped and crazily lusting for a pair of footwear struck me again after its long hiatus.. Sneaker Wedges appear to be very much still a thing, for me.
Despite not finding any pics of them actually on anyone (which is mega annoying as I can’t tell how chunky they are IRL – what if they’re super slimline?! OMG!), I’ve already made up my mind and I am absolutely getting them, the only thing that is playing on my mind is which colourway to get them in!
It’s between the white/coral or grey/mine grey.
The grey with neon is probably most suitable of the two for cooler months where there’s undoubtedly going to be rain (an inevitability at all times of the year in England, sadly). I really like this colour combo and think it has the perfect mix of grunge and edge, suiting both darker clothing as well as light. It pretty much ticks all the boxes, basically much more versatile than the white pair.
But despite all this, I’ve always had a thing for boxfresh, slightly ironic, chunky white trainers. For this particular style of shoe I think in white brings the best out in it. It doesn’t minimise, it compliments it. Maybe even completes it. The only reason I am undecided about the white is purely practical; how well will these fare in winter? Will they go with as much of my wardrobe as the grey? Every time I decide perhaps the grey is a more logical choice, I just glance back at the white and instantly my mind is changed again.
So, umm, clearly I can’t make a decision – which Nike Air Revolution Sky Hi pair do you think? Before you say both, at, £110 they’re not massively cheap – which I don’t think is ridiculously overpriced either for such a statement shoe, but perhaps expensive enough to not be able to indulge in both pairs. Also, another thing to take into account is that I can’t actually find a stockist of the grey pair. EUGH.
SO WHICH DO YOU THINK??!
