As expected, I was totally stressing over what to wear for the Blogosphere Magazine launch party. As you may have saw hints of in my last post, I wore a flouncy playsuit number with a lace kimono, but it took a loooooot of searching and shopping before finally discovering it!
I had decided in my head I wanted some kind of pajama silky shorts combo, all loose and floaty. After scouring the entirety of the net (okay, just Topshop, ASOS, River Island and several department stores) and not finding anything remotely like what I wanted, I finally came across it on Oh My Love. Oh My Love is a pretty new store, not that dissimilar to Motel, but after these recent purchases I am now having a bit of moment with them.
Whilst it wasn’t strictly a pajama set/suit, it was a silk playsuit that definitely had the lingerie/bedwear vibe I had in mind!
As luck would have it, the minute it arrived I got an email saying Oh My Love were having a sale and spotted it had been reduced to half price! So promptly re-bought it and another chiffon one of the same style which was also half price, returning the original. I love it when that happens.
I do wish I bought multiple sizes though, as I got them both in Smalls and the straps do kinda fall off of me a bit. I think I could have gotten away with an XS, I just didn’t want anything too bootylicious!
I finished the look with NEW LOOK! Oddly, I never, ever, ever shop from there as I kinda thought it was bit too young for me and had some prejudices about the potential quality. However, I randomly went on their website whilst I was panic buying everything and came across these New Look Truffle Brown Faux Shearling Line High Leg Boots. I had wanted a pair of knee high brown boots that weren’t too fitted to wear with skirts and big jumpers for winter, and these looked gorgeous on the site.
I had kinda expected for them to be a let down on arrival and thus be swiftly returned..but I was wrong! They’re perfect. I’ve pretty much lived in them since owning them. And best of all, I only discovered this after they arrived but they’re made from real leather!!! At £75 I’d consider them reasonably priced for how wearable they are.
The white lace kimono is also from New Look and cost about a tenner in the sale! I bagged the last one as I was making my boots order.
So all in all, some very thrifty, successful purchases for an important outfit!
